Need help with asthma at home? The District Department of Energy & Environment's (DOEE) Lead-Safe and Healthy Homes program and its DC Partnership for Healthy Homes work to identify and end asthma, lead, and other environmental health and safety threats, and to improve energy efficiency. Eligible participants receive a home environmental assessment and energy audit, family education, an asthma management diagnostic, and case management coordination. You can also learn more about home hazards at DOEE's Lead-Safe and Healthy Homes Hub.


Asthma resources for Families from IMPACT DC at Children's National Health System includes instructions and video on how to use asthma medications and devices.

Food Allergy Corner


Kids With Food Allergies (KFA) educates families and communities with practical food allergy management strategies to save lives and improve the quality of life for children and their families. It also offers the largest online support community for families raising children with food allergies and it's free! KFA is a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA).


Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE) provides information, tools, resources, for people with food allergies, including all those at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis.


Download CDC's Voluntary Guidelines for Managing Food Allergies in Schools and Early Care and Education Centers, developed in fulfillment of the 2011 FDA Food Safety Modernization Act to improve food safety in the United States.
